Madera County Undersheriff Michael Salvador has put off a decision whether to run to replace his boss, John Anderson, who has said he will retire at the end of 2014.
In a press release issued Monday, Salvador expressed some uncertainty about the race. While admitting that he has been seriously considering entering the contest, Salvador said that he is getting married in June and will announce his decision after that — sometime in July.
Salvador said whether he runs will be based on what is best for his family, the safety of the people of Madera County, and how he can best serve the community. Salvador is currently a trustee on the Madera Unified School District board of trustees.
