Heartland Opportunity Center, Inc., a provider of disabled programs in Madera County, announced Tuesday that it will be merged into The Arc Fresno, a provider in Fresno County. The transition is expected to be complete by July 1.
The newly named The Arc of Fresno/Madera Counties will continue to provide programs, activities and job training for the intellectually and developmentally disabled in both counties, in place of Heartland.
Services will be provided without interruption in Heartland’s current locations, and The Arc will seek to build on Heartland’s reputation, efforts and hard work in Madera County and further enhance the provided services and programs, officials said.
