A former Madera resident was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole Tuesday for the rape and murder in Madera of a homeless woman nearly 13 years ago.
Frank Hogan, 39, was sentenced by Madera Superior Court Judge Joseph Soldani.
The victim, whose name was not released, was raped and killed Sept. 1, 2000. The woman was found outside a business off Yosemite Avenue by Madera police.
Other than DNA evidence found on the woman at the time, the case went cold for eight years until a positive match was made with Hogan when he was arrested for an unrelated crime...
