The cause of the fire that destroyed a third of the Oakhurst Lodge on May 23 remains under investigation, according to Cal Fire authorities.
Guests at the hotel were awakened shortly after midnight by the crackling sound of fire and managed to grab most of their belongings and evacuate without injury.
Firefighters faced a wall of flames 20 to 30 feet tall, and said the fire had likely been burning in the attic for sometime. Several of the center rooms were engulfed in flames on their arrival.
