Tessmer story told locally

In conjunction with North American Traffic Seminars, Martha Tessmer shares the story of her son’s death at Experience in Reality, a diversion program for first-time teen driving offenders.

The seminar is offered once a month at the First Baptist Church in Fresno from 7 to 9 p.m. and is open to all.

“It’s a program designed for teenagers with that first traffic ticket,” Tessmer said. “The judge has the option of sending them to this program instead of paying for that first ticket. It’s a panel of speakers. It’s to bring awareness of the reality of poor decisions made behind the wheel.”

On the panel are representatives from the Fresno Police Department, California Highway Patrol, American Ambulance and personal stories, including Tessmer’s and Danica McCall (Lacy), Donovan’s girlfriend and the driver at the time of his fatal accident...
