Eric Santos and Erik Montes, two entrepreneur-minded Valley natives, are out to completely change the game in crowdfunding and have already found measurable success.
Since July the two partners, who met as part of a Fresno-based computer hacking competition, have owned and operated web-based start-up company Wishbooklet, which they say utilizes a simple idea with boundless potential.
“The idea with this is that you can basically go to any online store like Amazon, Walmart.com, whatever it is and make a single shared list out of items you want,” said Montes, a 26-year-old Madera native working towards his master’s degree in computer science at Fresno State. “Then people who you share your list with can not only see what you want, but also contribute money to a more expensive item they may not be able to afford individually.
“It’s kind of like, instead of having your friends each buy you a book for Christmas, they all put money towards one complete set.” ...
