The Madera County Cattlewomen’s Association has named a woman who grew up rearing livestock, and has guided other children to do the same, its 2013 Cowbelle of the Year.
Cori Meyers, who lives in Clovis, was a longtime Madera resident and remains actively involved in the local association, where she holds two official positions.
The Cowbelle of the Year award recognizes individuals who have supported the cattle industry in Madera County. Honorees are nominated and chosen by past winners.
Meyers received her “cowbell” from Barbara Spillane, outgoing Cowbelle of the Year. Spillane, a Coarsegold resident, also presented Meyers with a picture board and flowers during an association meeting.
