Testimony in Pike death trial continues

More than six years ago, Madera Police Officer William Spears was one of two policemen who first saw Krista Pike, 18, dead on the floor of a Madera home she shared with fiancé Thomas Hollier.

When Spears responded to a possible homicide call in January of that year, he said his friend Lynn Hollier — Thomas Hollier’s father who lived with the couple — met him outside the house with bone-chilling words: “Bill, he slit her throat.”

Spears testified Tuesday inside Stanislaus County Superior Court.

“That’s something you don’t hear every day,” he said. The “he” Lynn Hollier alluded to is Dustin Gran, 25, who stands accused of murder, attempted rape, and other charges in Pike’s death...
