A 36-year-old Mariposa man spent the weekend behind bars after allegedly harassing a 13-year-old Girl Scout outside a grocery store in Oakhurst.
Deputies were sent to a shopping center off of State Route 49 on Friday night in response to reports of an intoxicated person harassing customers, including a girl trying to sell Girl Scout cookies.
According to authorities, Lance Wesley Dondero asked the girl around 5:30 p.m. what she was doing. He then walked into the store and exited carrying “some type of alcoholic beverage.” Roughly an hour and half later, he chased a woman into the grocery store. She alerted store staff who in turn notified the Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived, Dondero was back at the Girl Scout’s booth where he reportedly put his arm around the girl and started spewing profanities, said Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Erica Stuart. He was taken into custody...
