MUSD beefing up administration
California’s new formula for funding its public schools will mean an additional $19.4 million for Madera Unified School District in the 2014-15 school year. With that increase in funding, the community will see significant changes in Madera Unified School District. Among the more noticeable will be several new administrative positions in the district office.
At its regular meeting Tuesday evening, the school board approved the job description for a “chief human resources officer” at a salary ranging from $125,000 to $141,000. The proposal came at the recommendation of Superintendent Edward Gonzalez after being approved by the district’s personnel commission.
The new addition to the administrative staff in Madera’s district offices will, among other duties, manage the “district’s human resource program for certificated and classified employees.”
According to Gonzalez, the human resources officer will report directly to him. Tuesday night’s action followed the board’s decision on March 25 to establish job descriptions for two more directors and two support specialists...
