Two 18-year-old Madera men were arrested Thursday in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Jesus Gutierrez, Madera’s first killing this year, according to the Madera Police Department.
Carlos Ramirez and Jorge Rodriguez were booked in the Madera County Department of Corrections on charges of accessory to murder and gang enhancements for their involvement in the shooting death, officials said.
Gutierrez was found dead outside an apartment complex on the 300 block of Knox Avenue around 11 p.m. Saturday; he had been shot several times, officers said.
Madera Police detectives and members of the Special Investigations Unit are still investigating the case and say further arrests are anticipated. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 498-STOP or Madera police at 675-4220.
