For the first time ever, a charitable art tour that directly weaves music with traditional art will be on display at Madera’s Circle Gallery, with a special reception set for tonight.
The painted violin tour has artists, both local and from other states put brush to instrument, culminating in wild designs on violins and cellos, this year eight in all.
The donated instruments will be auctioned May 24 at Fresno restaurant The Painted Table with proceeds going to the Youth Orchestras of Fresno, but Nancy Burckert with the Madera County Arts Council says the local organization — which owns and operates the gallery — will benefit as well.
“It’s really going to help both of us,” Burckert says. “It promotes both our gallery and their auction, and it gives us a beautiful set of pieces to display this month.” ...
