Eight candidates vying for two of Madera County’s top law-enforcement positions asked for the June votes of about 100 Oakhurst-area residents last week during a forum that, at times, saw tensions bubble to the surface.
Inside the Oakhurst Community Center, the night focused on races for the Madera County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office and the county’s district attorney’s office.
Perhaps the most hotly-contested race this year is for district attorney, in which incumbent Michael Keitz has faced continuous criticism from opponents Miranda Neal and David Linn.
