Todd Miller defeated incumbent Marcia Hall in the heated Consolidated Primary Election race for Madera County Auditor-Controller late Tuesday night.
With 76 of 76 precincts reporting, Miller, from Oakhurst, held 56.6 percent of the vote over Hall, who was appointed in 2012.
Miller said he was “pleasantly surprised” by the victory in a race expected to be one of the county’s closest.
“I’m very happy,” Miller said. “I guess my message got through in spite of your newspaper.” ...
