Madera County District 2 Supervisor David Rogers of Chowchilla handily defeated write-in candidate William “Bill” Hoffrage in Tuesday’s Consolidated Primary Election.
After polls closed at 8 p.m., Rogers had a 93.8 percent share of absentee ballot votes that were tallied by 8:10 p.m.
The results were unsurprising given, Rogers said, his friendship with his opponent.
“I think he was just trying to stir up the voters and get them out to take advantage of their civil right to vote and have their voices heard,” Rogers said. “It’s frustrating to him and others that people don’t take advantage of that.” ...
