A baby girl was unexpectedly delivered by her father Thursday afternoon along the roadside of State Route 41, near Road 209, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Sgt. Michael Donnell said details were sketchy but the emergency call for assistance came in as the couple was apparently driving down from the Coarsegold or Oakhurst area to a Fresno hospital.
They were driving south in a burgundy Tahoe SUV with the mother in labor, according to Donnelly, when they decided they couldn’t make it to a hospital and had to pull over.
