After six years of sitting empty, the former Mervyn’s department store in a shopping center on Country Club Drive is now the scene of work that is the start of a substantial upgrade of the 60,000-square-foot facility.
Fallas Paredes, the clothing store that already has a location in the same shopping center, will occupy the former Mervyn’s once work is completed, according to City of Madera building official Steve Woodworth.
National Stores, Inc., of Glendale, owns and operates the Fallas Paredes chain and also owns other clothing chains, including Fallas Discount Stores, Fallas Kids and Factory 2-U.
