A former teacher who abandoned his career in search of a way to help children directly, without being subjugated by standardized testing, wants to bring rehabilitation services for youth and adults to Madera.
Orlando Gillam, founder and president of Dunamis Inc., spoke about the company during the Gang Prevention, Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Abuse program and dinner hosted by Rick Farinelli in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 2026 N. Granada Drive on Friday. His presentation was among others by representatives from several local organizations.
Already established in Fresno, Dunamis Inc., headed by Gillam, provides outpatient service opportunities for youth ages 12 to 21.
Gillam claims his organization aims to help troubled youth become and remain substance free and away from crime. Dunamis Inc. promotes success in completing education, making career choices, creating a cohesive family life and becoming assets to the community.
