Madera County Librarian Ellen Mester said the library continues to welcome books from the community. An article in the Friday edition of the Madera Tribune said an overflow of donations caused some to be boxed or tossed.
Mester said the misunderstanding was probably due to the library’s lack of manpower to hold a book drive to raise money.
“It’s not that we have too many donations. It’s that we are not able to hold a book drive,” she said.
