Madera County Sheriff John Anderson thinks Undersheriff Michael Salvador is the best person to take over the department following his retirement, the duo announced Tuesday in front of the Courthouse Museum.
Anderson publicly endorsed Salvador’s candidacy for Madera County Sheriff in November’s general election in front of news media Tuesday morning, saying that the department will be in good hands if Salvador wins.
“When I ran 16 years ago, my deal was that we’re going to bring the department into the 21st Century,” Anderson said. “Well, Mike has helped do that and now he’s going to get us ready for the next century.”
