Vets to be honored at Old Timers Parade

For the 14th year, the Madera Kiwanis Club will honor war veterans during the annual Old Timers Parade on Saturday along Yosemite Avenue.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. at the corner of Flume Street and Yosemite Avenue. The 45-minute procession will end at Courthouse Park, where the Madera Historical Society will host booths and Old Timers activities.

Club president Tiffany Swarts called the parade a tradition and a piece of Madera’s history.

“Coming to this parade, you’re coming to something generations in the past have enjoyed,” Swarts said. “It’s really like watching history go by.” ...
