New contract means more money for teachers
Ninety-nine percent of those teachers who cast a vote Tuesday in the ratification election for the new contract agreement with Madera Unified said “yes” to new stipulations that will give them more money.
Before the teacher-ratified agreement can take effect, it will have to be approved by the school board. According to district officials, the contract will be placed on the agenda of the next meeting of school trustees, which has been scheduled for Tuesday.
New class of compensation
According to a joint statement from MUSD and MUTA, a new compensation class for teachers with a bachelor’s degree plus 75 units has been added to the salary schedule.
