Winners of a poster contest at Thomas Jefferson Middle School were inspired by real life experiences and told their stories about drugs, bullying and breast cancer through art.
“For a lot of them, they had a reason behind the poster that they made, whether it was related to their family or how they felt,” physical education teacher Nancy Sherrod said.
The school held the Awareness Ribbon Poster Contest to keep students involved and to bring attention to October’s breast cancer, anti-drug and anti-bullying awareness campaigns. More than 50 students submitted their work.
