A driver attempting to cross traffic on Yosemite Avenue near N Street struck a westbound Toyota Camry in the driver’s door, sending both parties to the Madera Community Hospital with minor injuries, according to the Madera Police Department.
The collision occurred Thursday about 3:15 p.m. The impact spun the Toyota into a secondary crash with a tree on the northwest side of the street.
Sgt. Brian Esteves said the driver of a Ford Escape reportedly stopped at the intersection of Yosemite and N, but then tried to proceed through the intersection before it was clear to do so.
Both drivers had cuts and bruises, along with complaints of pain. Speeds in the area are 40 mph, slowing to 30 mph, he said...
