Some ex-employees of the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino are frantically looking for a new job to avoid financial ruins since its closure Oct. 9.
Madera County Department of Social Services held two job orientation sessions Thursday, one for the Spanish-speaking community and the other for English speakers.
About 30 ex-staff attended the English-speaking session to learn about unemployment benefits and ways to find a new job, including a vocational school.
