Madera’s American Legion Riders Chapter 11 will drive around Madera on Saturday, collecting boxes of toys to give underprivileged children in its first “Ugly Sweater and Toy Run.”
The club members will begin their ride at 10 a.m. from the American Legion Post, 17408 Road 26, where they will pick up the first box. Then they will go to the Madera Municipal Golf Course, Veterans of Foreign Wars hall and Round Table Pizza. Their final stop is at the Madera Honda Suzuki.
“We’re going to collect all these toys and take them to the American Legion Post on Dec. 13 and we’re going to separate them by age and gender, and the following Saturday we will deliver them to Holy Family Table at Griffin Hall,” said Ed Chacon, president of the organization.
