Madera County Sheriff John Anderson warned residents to watch out for Grinches this holiday season that may be on the hunt to steal packages delivered to county homes.
Late Monday afternoon, the sheriff’s office received a call about a suspicious U-Haul truck that was patrolling neighborhoods, last seen around noon on Little Lake Road in Oakhurst.
Two white men inside the truck allegedly drove up to someone’s property where United Parcel Service had just finished a delivery, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Erica Stuart said in a release.
Anderson noted because of the truck’s suspicious nature – described as a white moving truck – the incident was a reminder to those waiting for deliveries to let their neighbors know when they won’t be home so the neighbors can pick up the packages...
