Madera Community Hospital’s children, parents and hospital staff were greeted by Santa Claus on Wednesday afternoon and had a chance to take some pictures with him for free.
About 50 turned up in the first few hours and not all of them are from the hospital. Some happy visitors were community members who heard about Santa’s visit, said Rae Gomes, community relations officer.
The hospital has invited Santa every year, as long as Gomes could remember. “I’ve been here 23 years and we’ve done it as many years as I’ve been here,” Gomes said. “They’ve probably done it way before I got here too, so I’m guessing at least 40 years.”
