Many stores in Madera are not just business establishments, but unrecognized active contributors to the local community.
Madera Rotary is asking the public to write a letter or fill in a form nominating their favorite store before Jan. 31, 5 p.m. Forms can be picked up at the Madera Chamber of Commerce.
The nominated businesses should show honesty between customers and employees; provide excellent customer service; resolve conflicts fairly and honor obligations; contribute to the community through participation in events, outreach or donations; and have a beneficial presence in the community.
Nominators should write down the name and address of their favorite store and give some examples on why they love it based on the five given criteria, said Jim Pierce, chairman of the selection committee.
