Madera Parks and Community Services is encouraging people to pick up some gloves and a shovel Saturday to help clean up and plant trees along the Fresno River trail and spruce up the city.
Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Westberry Boulevard and Riverview Drive, said John Scarborough, parks planning manager.
Volunteers will plant about 100 trees to replace the ones that died along the trail, so Scarborough hopes that more people will show up than expected.
