A march to raise awareness of rape and gender violence will take place today in Courthouse Park, as Madera men strap on stilletos, high heels, and other women’s shoes as part of an international “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event.
It’s the eighth annual event held by Victim Services, a part of the Community Action Partnership of Madera County, and runs from 5 to 7 p.m.
Last year, 57 men, wearing women’s shoes and carrying picket signs, marched around Courthouse Park and the Madera County Courthouse Museum.
