A re-enactment of a Civil War battle and live exhibits of Union and Confederate lifestyles is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday at Kearney Park, 7160 W. Kearney Blvd., Fresno.
The event will be presented by the Fresno Historical Society and the American Civil War Association, the 23rd time it has been staged.
Event passes are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Children ages 5 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online at www.valleyhistory.org or at Whole Foods Fresno.
The Civil War Revisited offers two battle re-enactments both days and educational outdoor classrooms with historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln, Sojourner Truth and Walt Whitman. Period musicians, dancers, artisans, societies and hundreds of re-enactors capture the sights, sounds and smells of the 1800s. Returning, is the Twilight Battle and Lantern-Led Widows’ Walk.
