A man who runs a daycare from his Madera home faces child molestation and rape charges.
KFSN-TV reports that Oscar Aguiar pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to felony charges of child molestation, rape of a child under the age of 14 and rape of a child over the age of 14.
According to the California Department of Social Services, the 44-year-old Aguiar and his wife were licensed to care for up to eight children. CDSS spokesperson Michael Weston said both had undergone background checks.
Weston said the department is conducting an investigation and will revoke the daycare’s license if it finds inappropriate actions by Aguiar.
Authorities have not released the relationship between the suspect and the victims. Aguiar is being held in lieu of a $300,000 bond.
