Central Madera, Interchange ramps to be shut
Highway exits and on-ramps in the center of Madera and at the State Route 145 Interchange could be closed for quite a while as the state completes its work widening SR 99.
To allow businesses and residents a chance to learn about detour plans and ask questions, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and Granite Construction will hold an informal Public Outreach Meeting at 3 p.m. today in Madera City Hall Chambers, 205 West 4th Street.
The meeting will cover the final stage (Phase 4) of construction along State Route 99, which includes the completion of the # 2 lanes closest to the shoulders and shoulder reconstruction along both the northbound and southbound lanes of SR 99 from just south of the Gateway Drive Exit to just north of the Avenue 16 Exit within the city limits of Madera.
For this phase, the north and southbound ramps at 4th Street in Central Madera and at the SR 145 Interchange would be closed for the long term, according to Gloria Rodriguez of the state’s Department of Transportation...
