Allegedly caused head-on crash
COARSEGOLD — A driver who allegedly caused a head-on collision with major injuries Tuesday remained in critical condition Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP Sgt. Ed Green said both drivers were pinned in their vehicles, and both sustained broken bones and internal injuries.
Jonathan Olmedo, 32 of Coarsegold was charged with driving under the influence, and if he survives his injuries Olmedo will be facing felony DUI charges, Green said.
The collision happened about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on Road 415, east of Gold Creek Road. Olmedo was still in critical condition in Community Regional Medical Center as of Wednesday...
