Allan Hall has been helping people get well and stay healthy for 48 years. Yesterday, at the Savemart pharmacy on Howard Road, he filled his final prescription and retired. Hall, 72, began his career as a pharmacist after graduating in that field from Oregon State University.
There were half a dozen drug stores in downtown Madera in 1965 and he found employment at the corner of Yosemite Avenue and C street.
“There was Hunter Drug, Madera Drug, McCumber & Pinion and others, but it was Martin Calaway that hired me,” Hall said.
