Supervisor to discuss farming at Town Hall

District 2 Supervisor David Rogers will host a Town Hall meeting on Feb. 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Grace Community Church to discuss regulatory issues related to farming. He hopes to compile a comprehensive list of concerns he will deliver to the National Association of Counties subcommittee on Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

“Farming is the backbone of our county,” Rogers said. “Every year, more regulations are placed on farming which are endangering these generations-old operations. I want to hear the farmers’ concerns, and I want to bring those concerns to Washington.”

Rogers was nominated to the Ag and Rural Affairs subcommittee late last year. He will attend the NACo Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. in March.

At the town hall meeting, Rogers will also discuss the Roads Special District, which encompasses the Madera Acres-Madera Country Club subdivisions, and staff will address other concerns such as high-speed rail...
