A 20-year-old man thought to have robbed dozens of homes is in Madera County Jail after he and a 13-year-old accomplice were allegedly thwarted by Madera Police Department officers during an attempted break-in last week.
Detective Sgt. Robert Salas of the MPD said that Charles Price, from Madera, is suspected in a streak of home invasions after he was arrested with the minor while attempting to break into a house on the 600 block of Quady Lane around 9:30 a.m. Friday.
“He’s been under our radar for some time,” Salas said of Price. “We’ve been looking at him for a number of burglaries in the area.”
Salas said Price was arrested last month on possession of stolen property from another home burglary and is suspected in a significant increase of residential burglaries in the area — some 20 to 30 in total...
