The Dog Park at Rotary Park on Gateway Drive will have more than its usual attendance of canines Saturday with a dog contest in the morning, and an All Breeds Dog Show beginning at noon.
The morning event will benefit improvements to the Dog Park and is co-sponsored by Madera Parks and Community Services. It will be followed by the dog show.
Registration for both events is from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by judging for the cutest canine, the ugliest dog and an owner-dog look-a-like contest. According to event organizer Michelle Swengel, there is a suggested $5 single or $10 family entry fee for the contest with proceeds going to the Dog Park.
