With carnival-style games, inflatable slides, food and dazzling fireworks, thousands of Madera-area residents were treated to an Independence Day full of fun on America’s ceremonial birthday.
After a golf tournament held in the morning, residents from young to old gathered at the course in an evening all described as a great way to spend the holiday.
“It’s a blast,” said Daniel Hess, 34, who had just wrapped up a no-hands watermelon-eating contest with his family. “I mean, you get out here and play games, it’s good for the kids, and the fireworks are great.”
