There will be a free showing of the 1978 movie “Grease,” starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, Friday at the final Movies in the Park summer series. Madera Classic Cars will also have dozens of its vehicles from the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s on display.
The free screening will be at the amphitheater of Lions Town and Country Park, 1325 Howard Road, and is sponsored by Madera Parks and Community Services and a grant from Pacific Gas & Electric.
The car show should begin at 6 p.m. with the movie to follow at 8:30. There will be a costume contest and, according to event coordinator Joseph Carrello of the parks department, those attending are encouraged to dress accordingly.
