In an ongoing feud of several months, the offices of County Treasurer-Tax Collector Tracy Kennedy and Auditor-Controller Marcia Hall had a minor disagreement during Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting with at least two supervisors expressing frustration over the display.
Assistant treasurer-tax collector Dan Garcia came before the board to deliver a weekly report on the work of Kennedy’s office to respond to an independent audit commissioned by the board earlier this year.
That audit pointed to several red flags about operations within Kennedy’s office, including an inability to balance hundreds of thousands of dollars to the county’s general ledger, a lack of daily cash counting of money in the county vault, and the several-year-long obstruction of a security camera pointing to that vault.
