Trio recognized for weekly food work

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Madera awarded multi-speed bikes to Leslie Bravo, Cecelia Hernandez and Lenisa Bravo this weekend in recognition of their continued service to Madera persons in need.

The trio are members of Key Club International, a student-led service organization sponsored by the global volunteer group Kiwanis International.

“While all members of Key Club are committed to service, and each student must complete qualifying hours of work for the community, these three members provided extra-ordinary service, serving food every Sunday morning at the Holy Family Table meal kitchen,” said local Kiwanian Eric Outfleet.

Their “reliable” work, combined with that of 5-10 other community volunteers, helps assure that more than 300 breakfast meals are cooked and served each Sunday. Holy Family Table is a non-denominational project of churches, service clubs, families, community organizations, and local businesses that provides hot breakfasts every day of the year...
