Navarra trial delay granted

The family of murdered Madera teenager Krista-Rae Pike will have to wait a few more months to see the alleged mastermind of the plot to kill their daughter before a jury.

The trial of Brittany Navarra, 22, was delayed two months by a judge earlier this week after her attorney, Madera lawyer Steven Geringer, said he needed more time to prepare despite the crime having taken place more than six years ago.

More time may be necessary as Dustin Gran, who actually killed Pike, was convicted and found sane during the crime last week, which will likely put him in prison for life.

Evidence put forth in that case to a Stanislaus County jury included incriminating text messages and photos of Pike’s corpse through Gran and Navarra’s phones, as well as witness statements apparently confirming Navarra’s involvement in the murder...
