Madera Rescue Mission raised about $22,000 this week during their annual banquet with an auction and raffle at Hatfield Hall.
Audience members were bidding during the live auction for items such as a six-day trip to Hawaii and a Fresno State Bulldog sports package that includes game tickets and merchandise. People queued at the silent auction and raffle tables, setting their eyes on the various giveaways.
There were about 400 people present Thursday night at the sold out tri-tip and grilled chicken dinner, said Mike Unger, the mission’s executive director.
