‘Jersey Boys’ plays through Sunday

Lights, action, singing and dancing fills the Saroyan Theater as Fresno Lexus opens its 2014-2015 Broadway In Fresno season. The award-winning “Jersey Boys” plays through the weekend with two performances on Saturday and Sunday. Learn the story of how a small group of juvenile delinquents became a force to be reckoned with as international sensations Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

The show opens with a French hip-hop group, “Ces Soirees-La,” performing one of the crew’s most famous hits “Oh What a Night,” rapping more than singing the familiar lyrics.

“Ask four guys how we left the old neighborhood to become stars and you’ll get four different answers,” said the actor portraying the band’s front man Frankie Valli.

Each of the band members, Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi get their chance to tell their version of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time.
