Rosalba Flores, the woman who was found to have tied a poodle-mix puppy to a post in her backyard and left it there for months — to grow, suffer and starve as the rope cut deeply into its neck, walked away from Madera Superior court a free woman.
The 53-year-old Flores did not receive any jail time in the Friday proceedings, but was fined a total of $6,082, and sentenced to time served, 400 hours of community service and three years probation.
She had pleaded no contest to felony animal cruelty.
