Salvation Army given about $600

The Salvation Army received more than $600 from Round Table restaurant earlier this month.

“The Salvation Army got blessed this month” said service unit director Carrie Phillips, “It could have come at a better time.”

Phillips said many people from Madera think the local office is a thrift store but it’s not. The Madera Salvation Army office administers the PG&E REACH assistance program for qualifying families and senior citizens. They also have an emergency food pantry, and the Coats for Kids program for children of all ages. All of these services are free. The only program where there’s a fee is the summer camp for kids, but it’s greatly reduced.

“We serve the suffering without discrimination.” said Phillips, “This will really be helpful for those in need in Madera.” ...
