The Juan Garcia Farmworker Scholarship (JGFS) organization will host its first fundraiser Saturday to benefit Madera High School seniors from farm-working families.
The dinner will take place at a JGFS’ member’s home, 6511 N. Haslam in Fresno, from 4 to 8 p.m. It is free to attend, but visitors will have to pay for food and drinks, said Eduardo Pena, event organizer and guidance counselor at Madera High.
Visitors can expect a large variation of wines available for tasting as well as a few local beers.
“Everything at the event is going to be donated by restaurants, businesses, friends or members of the JGFS,” Pena said. “All proceeds go to the scholarship for children of farm workers from Madera High School.” ...
