A daylong multi-agency law enforcement operation Friday resulted in 19 felony arrests as of late afternoon, authorities said.
Operation Public Safety began with compliance, warrant, gang-related, AB109 and parole searches in the morning and transitioned to “proactive enforcement,” according to Madera Police Sgt. Matt Wiles. The operation continued through 11 p.m. with saturated police enforcement of driving under the influence laws.
The searches were conducted by teams of agents of the Madera Police Department, U.S. Marshals, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, California State Parole, Madera County Probation and the Madera County Department of Corrections.
“Madera Police Department wants to make the community aware that we will continue these operations to help assure the safety of those we serve,” Wiles said.
